Kottappuram Karayogam is initially formed on1120 Medam 31 (17.04.1944) After that the Karayogam was registered and affiliated with Nair Service Society and the official inauguration was done on 1121 Medam 31 (09/04/1945) by NSS President Sri. Bharatha Kesari Sri. Mannath Padmanabhan who was also known as Rajasree Mannath Padmanabha Pillai, at 4.00 p.m. and the location was Parameswara Vilasom Cine Theatre. NSS General Secretary Sri. V. Gangadharan Nair Venkulam Sri. G. Parameswara Pillai and Sri, E. Krishnan Nair BA LT were the Guests of Honor who were present on this auspicious occasion.Thundil Sri. P.K. Parameswara Pillai presided at the inaugural meeting and it was attended by over 2500 people. ( Above information is based on the Minutes Book which is still kept safely in Karayogam Office. Presently the organizational structure of the elected Karayogam Managing Committee is for three years and as follows President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and Four Committee Members

Kottappuram NSS Karayogam is conducting Lab Assistant Training Course for Girls which is a one year Job oriented Course approved by BSS ( Bharath Sevak Samaj). 1st and 2 nd Batch of Students are now employed in different Hospitals and Clinics at Paravur and Surrounding Areas. Admission for the 3 rd Batch is completed and the Classes are in full swing from 15.06.16.

There is a Two story Building owned by the Karayogam with Aluminum Roofing on top, which is inaugurated on 01/04/2002 by the Honorable General Secretary of Nair Service Society Sri. P.K. Narayana Panicker. The Building is centrally located about 250 Meters away from Paravur Junction on Paravur – Thekkumbhagom Road. There are four shops on Ground Floor facing the Main Road, which is already rented for different Tenants. Behind the Shops there is a storage and Clinical Laboratory and both are leased.

On the First Floor we have the Government Homeo Clinic Leased by Paravur Municipality. Next to that our Karayogam Administrative Office. The Roof Top with Aluminum Sheet can be used to rent out for meetings or other gatherings. When the new Elected Committee is in place, they can decide regarding renting of the place for short leases, which can generate additional Income to the Karayogam.

Vanitha Samajam Karayogam No- 1366 is functioning under the Karayogam as a separate wing which is inaugurated on 25.12.2011 by our honorable Taluk Union President Sri. Mohandas Unnithan. Vanitha Samajam has s single story Building with two rooms on both sides with a spacious Auditorium Hall. It is also having an Aluminum Roof Top. The Auditorium and Roof Top can be used for meetings or other multi purposes which can generate additional revenue.

Balasamajam No- 144 is also functioning under the Karayogam

Previously there was a Library also under the Karayogam which is nonfunctional at present.

At present the Karayogam Building is spread over approximately 23 cents of land with lot of open areas. The open area can be utilized for small functions and future development of the Karayogam. With effect from 06.11.15 The Karayogam Administration is taken over by NSS Karayogam Registrar and it is run by an Adhoc Committee for one year and the day today functions are done as per the guidelines given by the Registrar by the following
